Back in the good old days, a couple waited until the actual birth to know the gender of their child. Not knowing the gender was ordinarily a part of the excitement of the babies arrival. Knowing the gender of your baby before it is born has certain benefits. For parents with a more practical way of looking at life, knowing the gender of your infant in advance can help you organize and prepare for it's arrival in every way possible. Either way, you will be overjoyed when that little being is placed in your arms for the first time.
